Danti Help
1. Getting Started with Danti
What is Danti?
Danti is an AI-powered system that translates user questions into searches across multiple data sources including government systems, commercial content, and open-source information. It provides access to imagery, news, social media, and specialized datasets to deliver comprehensive intelligence.
Data Sources Available
Danti connects to a mix of government and commercial data sources:
Government Sources:
- NGA Global AGD imagery
- NASA fire information
- World port information
- Government news feeds
- Global population and climate data
Commercial Sources:
- SAR and electro-optical imagery
- Airborne data (select accounts)
- AIS maritime information (select accounts)
- RF information
- Commercial news and social media
*Note: Dataset access varies by organization. All .gov and .mil users have access to GovPlus and public information.*
2. Basic Search Methods
Main Search Bar
The primary entry point for Danti queries. Simply type your question naturally, as you would search the internet.
Steps:
- Log into Danti
- Locate the search bar on the main interface
- Type your query (e.g., “wildfires”)
- Click the search button on the right
Location-Based Search
Search for specific places by address or geographic location.
How to use:
- Enter an address or place name in the search bar
- Add your specific question about that location
- The system will focus results on that geographic area
3. Multi-Location Search
Bulk Location Import
Search multiple locations simultaneously using coordinates or address lists.
Steps:
- Click the multi-location search button
- Copy and paste location data (lat-long, MGRS grids, addresses)
- Upload CSV or TSV files with location data
- Confirm locations on the preview map
- Enter your search query (e.g., “illegal airstrips”)
- Configure search parameters
Search Configuration Options
Customize your search with filters and parameters:
Available options:
- Select/deselect subcategories
- Set time ranges for historical research
- Choose imagery preferences (government vs. commercial sources)
- Set imagery parameters (resolution, cloud cover limits)
4. Map-Based Exploration
Explore Mode
Navigate and search directly on an interactive map interface.
How to access:
- Go to the Explore section
- Click the map button on the side panel
- Navigate to any location globally
Drawing Search Areas:
- Polygon tool: Draw custom shapes around areas of interest
- Circle tool: Set a location with radius for circular search areas
- Point tool: search the area around a specific point on the map
- Current view: Search everything in the visible map area
Semantic Layer Application
Add context to your geographic searches with semantic queries.
Example workflow:
- Draw a polygon around an area (e.g., Gaza Strip)
- Add question in the search bar that appears next to your polygon: type “airstrikes”
- System searches for airstrike-related information within that geographic boundary
- Results include news, social media, and imagery relevant to airstrikes in that location
5. Working with Search Results
Multimodal Results Display
Danti presents results in multiple formats:
Result types:
- Text summaries with source citations
- Related imagery with time/location correlation
- News and social media compilation
- Interactive map overlays
Image Integration
Access high-resolution imagery directly within results.
Features:
- Full-resolution rendering from source APIs (e.g., Maxar Global AGD)
- Time-correlated imagery matching to events
- Direct map integration for geographic context
6. Specialized Analysis Features
Wildfire Analysis
Automated analysis layers for wildfire queries:
Automatic features:
- Fire extent plotting using NASA FIRMS data

- Filter points of interest
- Remove excess information layers
Maritime Analysis (Select Accounts)
Advanced shipping and port analysis capabilities:
Available features:
- Ship tracking near specific ports
- AIS information integration
- Port activity analysis
- Ship route plotting
- Flag state and vessel type categorization
Workflow:
- Search “ships near [location]” with date parameters
- System identifies available analysis models
- Execute specialized maritime analytics
- Receive email notification when analysis completes
- Review detailed results with interactive maps
7. Saving and Managing Searches
Save Search Function
Preserve searches for future reference and collaboration.
How to save:
- Complete any search
